Ivete LOVES riding through the Fall Leaves!

Trail Notes: B&B to Reiling Dredge to Minnie Mine

One of my favorite fall rides in Breckenridge starts at the B&B trailhead, tucked just off French Gulch Road. It’s a perfect launch point for a golden loop that blends history, flow, and quiet beauty.

Start: B&B Trailhead
Route: B&B → Reiling Dredge → Minnie Mine
Finish: Loop back toward French Gulch or connect to other trails

Begin at the B&B Trailhead
Park or roll in from town—this trailhead sits across from the old bed & breakfast site on French Gulch Road. The trail starts with a gentle climb through aspens and lodgepole pines.

Follow signs to Reiling Dredge Trail
After a short ascent, veer left at the junction toward Reiling Dredge. The trail winds through forested terrain and opens up to views of the historic dredge boat—a rusted relic of Breck’s mining past, now resting in a pond surrounded by fall color.

Continue past the dredge and climb toward Minnie Mine
Stay on the singletrack as it climbs gradually. You’ll pass interpretive signs and remnants of mining structures. The trail levels out as you approach Minnie Mine, running parallel to French Creek with sweeping views and golden aspens overhead.

  • Enjoy the flow
    1. This section is smooth and scenic—less crowded than the popular Aspen Alley, and perfect for soaking in the fall vibes. You’ll feel like you’re riding through a living postcard.
    2. Loop back or connect
From Minnie Mine, you can loop back toward French Gulch Road or connect to other trails like X10U8 or V3 if you want to extend the ride.

🧡 Why I Love This Route

    • Local roots: Starting from home in the Weisshorn makes the ride feel like a ritual.
    • Shared joy: I often ride this trail with my husband, and sometimes we bring our chihuahuas along for the adventure. When their little legs get tired, we scoop them up and pop them into our backpacks—they love the ride just as much as we do.
    • Visual feast: The aspens, the mining structures, the shifting light—it’s cinematic.
    • Flow & solitude: Minnie Mine offers just enough technical texture to keep things interesting, but it’s also a place to breathe, reflect, and reset.
    • Crowd-free calm: A hidden gem compared to busier fall trails.
